Koniareň Gallery presents the selection of large scale prints by Jana Bercelová produced over three years at three different locations – London, Brussels and Humenné. The author reflects on three distinct environments and contexts, records the fragments of everyday, dwells on clusters of non related information. We can detect social and political references, questions of age and identity as well as tools for “survival” sourced in any urban environment, rooted in pop culture and its rituals. A retrospective view revealed the parallel narrative and its heroine.
Jana Bercelová studied at the Slade School of Fine Art (UCL) in London. She works in graphics, video and performance, she has exhibited at Horse Hospital in London, FAT RELIC London, Limbo Limbo London, Savoy Centre Glasgow.
